Mr. Bernal earned an Honors Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from the University of New Orleans, where he finished as top of his class.
He received a Master's degree in macroeconomics from Germany's Kiel Institute of World Economics.
Mr. Bernal was previously head of Latin America Economic Research at IDEAglobal Inc., where he conducted in-depth economic analysis on Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and Latin America in general to support trading ideas on local and external markets.
He also worked at the Banco de Bogota as a currency trader.
