SwissLife Gestion Privée SA (SwissLife GP) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SwissLife Banque Privée SA, which in turn is a majority-owned subsidiary of the leading Switzerland-based insurance group Swiss Life Holding AG (SW: SLHN). The investment and interdealer brokerage firm Viel & Cie (XP: VIL) holds a significant minority interest. SwissLife GP was previously known as Fideuram Wargny Gestion SA. The Swiss Life group acquired the firm in 2007 from the Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (MI: ISP) subsidiary Banca Fideuram SpA, which in turn had acquired it in 2000. SwissLife GP was founded in 2000 as Wargny Gestion SA after the acquisition of Cap Finance Gestion SA by the brokerage group Wargny, established in 1806. Based in Paris with offices in Lyon and Nice, SwissLife GP provides financial products and services to institutions and high-net worth individuals, including private banking, asset management and financial engineering. They manage a range of mutual funds as well as discretionary portfolios. SwissLife GP leverages the insurance expertise of their parent group and includes specialty insurance products, such as structured life insurance, in their private banking offering.
