Jhirad is Vice President of Research and Evaluation for The Rockefeller Foundation.

He was Deputy Assistant Secretary of Energy for International Energy Policy and Trade and Senior International Advisor of the Secretary of Energy.
Dr. Jhirad was Vice Chairman of the International Energy and a Principal at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Energy Working Group.
He was a Senior Scientist at Brookhaven National Laboratory and a Director of the Union of Concerned Scientists.
Dr. Jhirad received a Bachelors and Masters degree in Physics from Cambridge University and a Doctorate in Applied Physics from Harvard University.
