Before that he served as a Director Clinical Genetics within the Translational Medicine team at Pharmacyclics, Inc. Prior to joining Pharmacyclics, he headed the Pfizer Oncology Clinical Research Laboratory at Pfizer’s Global R&D site in La Jolla, CA. He started his career in academia, and was a tenured faculty member at the Department of Human Genetics in Nijmegen, The Netherlands for over a decade.
He earned a MSc.
in Biology (with majors in Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Immunology) at the University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands, and a summa cum laude doctorate in Human (Cancer) Genetics from the University of Leuven, Belgium.
