Mr. François Dupuis is Chief Economist & Vice President at Desjardins Economics Studies.
plans and oversees the Economic Studies’ work program.
He leads the execution of work involving research, analysis and forecasts.
He supervises the production of economic periodicals intended for the Desjardins network and its target clientele, as well as the media.
His duties also involve sitting on several financial committees.
Lastly, he determines and supports Desjardins Group’s position on economic issues and serves as spokesperson on current economic news and major issues affecting the economy and the financial markets.
Mr. Dupuis began his career with Desjardins in 1988.
Since 2006 he is Vice President and Chief Economist .
He also worked as a financial journalist and as an economic adviser to the office of the cooperation of the Canadian Embassy in Niger.
Mr. Dupuis is president of the Quebec Association of Economists for 2011 to 2012.
Mr. Dupuis holds a Masters in Economics and an honours bachelor’s degree in economics from the Université de Montréal.
In the fall of 2010, he was recognized as "Alumnus Emeritus" by his alma mater.
