Kempen Investments's investment strategy focuses on medium-sized Dutch companies within a range of sectors such as services, trade, ICT and industry. They avoid sectors including HoReCa, commodities, local retail, real estate development and activities which they perceive as non-ethical. The firm invests both directly and through private equity funds. In their direct investments they favor family-owned companies and provide financing for MBOs, carve outs, shareholder restructuring and expansion capital through equity. They typically invest EUR 5-10 million in companies with over EUR 3 million in operating profit, and seek co-investors for larger deals. They may invest follow-on capital to fund acquisitions. In addition to significant growth potential, their investment criteria include a driven management team, a coherent strategy, a positive image and a strong, defensible market position. Kempen Investments generally acquires significant minority interests, between 20 and 50%. They do not get involved in daily operations and prefer an advisory role within their investee companies. They are long-term investors without a predetermined investment horizon. They leverage the capabilities of the Van Lanschot bank to provide a variety of financial services to the management of their portfolio companies.

Bolster Investment Partners invests in companies located in the Netherlands with an EBITDA of at least EUR 3 million. The firm focuses on a broad range of sectors and industries. It participates in debt and equity financing for management buy-outs and growth transactions with an investment size of EUR 7.5 - 50 million. The firm acquires minority and majority interests.
