Mr. Schechter joined Minneapolis Portfolio Management Group in 2005.
Prior to joining MPMG, he was a founding shareholder of Schechter, Dokken, Kanter, Andrews & Selcer, Ltd., a certified public accounting firm based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and served as managing shareholder of the firm.
Earlier in his career, he was a partner at Laventhal & Horwath, the seventh largest accounting firm in the U.S., and served as a managing partner of the Minneapolis office.
In addition to his accounting services experience, he has authored and edited numerous publications, including auditing guides, tax handbooks, and technical practice aids published by the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of CPAs, Practitioners Publishing Co. and QuickFinder, Inc., subsidiaries of Thompson Publications.
Mr. Schechter has taught accounting courses at the University of Minnesota’s School of Management and served as an executive mentor for the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business MBA program.
He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota.
