Mr. Hooks Johnston is Co-Founder & General Partner at Wednesday Management LLC.
Prior to founding Valhalla Partners in February 2002, he was a Managing Director at FBR Technology Venture Partners ("FBRTVP") from 1998 to 2001.
Under his leadership, FBRTVP raised two funds and invested an aggregate of approximately $150 million into early-stage technology companies.
To date, the FBRTVP funds have produced seven IPOs, including webMethods, the most successful software IPO in history, and FBRTVP I has realized returns of approximately nine times invested capital.
Mr. Johnston is currently the Chairman of the Northern Virginia Technology Council's Capital Formation Committee and helped start the NVTC's Early and Late Stage Capital Committees.
He serves on the board of Exchange Solutions, Inc., Persystent Technologies, Scentric, Inc., Sepaton, Inc., and ServiceBench, Inc. Prior to joining FBRTVP, he was the President and Chief Operating Officer of The Descartes Systems Group, a leading supply chain software company.
He helped take Descartes public in 1997.
Prior to his role at Descartes, he was President and Chief Executive Officer at Roadshow International, a transportation and logistics software company.
From 1993 to 1995, he was the Chief Operating Officer of ALG, Inc., a design, pre-press and systems integration company.
Prior to ALG, Inc., he spent five years at Systems Center, Inc., a systems and network management software company.
Mr. Johnston received a MBA from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business and a BSc in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Brown University.
He and his wife and 4 children live in McLean, Virginia.
