Mr. Harvey was already at the cutting edge, leading an adventure-based life of his own in the mountains and rivers of the Colorado Rockies and around the globe.
But if you met this unassuming action Director/Cinematographer, you’d have no idea he immersed himself in a lifestyle way outside of most people’s comfort zones.
This former climbing, mountaineering, and river guides accomplishments range from climbing the highest peaks on multiple continents to skiing steep descents from Alaska to the Himalayas as well as paddling class 5 whitewater throughout the US and South America.
Today he continues his adventures around the world, though now as a commercial Director/Cinematographer, capturing dynamic and powerful moving imagery.
Whether it is shooting locally or abroad, in studio or on location, it is his long history of pushing the envelope that has put Mr. Harvey name at the top of producer wish lists for shooting footage of athletes in action.
A few of the select clients that have witnessed his dynamic lens work firsthand include Red Bull, The North Face, Nissan, Ford, and Warren Miller Films.
And even though he prefers reality over fantasy, he will also occasionally lend his expertise to filming action-driven sequences for Hollywood blockbusters like Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Spiderman III.
When Mr. Harvey is not hip deep in powder, pulling up on a rockface, or filming the next generation of adrenaline junkies, he is relaxing in Culver City, CA with his kayak-paddling wife and their daughter.
