Martin Gordon James Walker

Martin Walker has been Head Teacher of Berkhamsted Sixth since September 2017 where he is responsible for the overseeing the academic achievement and pastoral care of 400 Sixth Formers.
He was previously a Head of Department and a House Master at Harrow School and the Deputy Head of the Lower School at the Perse School.
He coached rugby, hockey and cricket at Harrow and the Perse and led Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.
Martin has a degree in French and German from Nottingham University and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Cambridge University.
Martin has volunteered for Children’s charities such as CHICKS (Country Holidays for Inner City Kids) and Kids Company.
He has qualifications in counselling skills, an interest in educational psychology and a desire to help children to realise their full potential.
He was introduced to Chesham Preparatory School by Will Turner and Nick Baker with whom he had worked when he was at Harrow School.
Martin is married to Liz, a Clinical Immunologist in the NHS, and has two young daughters.
