Netols' investment process begins with the universe of about 5000 stocks of US companies with market-cap ranging from $100 million to $2 billion. The universe is narrowed to include cheap stocks leaving about 1500 stocks to choose from. The firm reviews relative valuations by industry to develop a watch list of about 400 stocks.
