Mr. Pablo Fernando González Lopez is a Chief Executive Officer & Founding Partner at Ábaco Capital SGIIC SA. Currently, he is also a member of the Board of Directors of Casa Grande de Cartagena and a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of IESE Business School.
Previously, he was Executive Director at Banco Santander where he was responsible for a book of positions in bonds and credit derivatives on behalf of the bank, and for advising institutional clients of the group.
He was also Managing Director for 4 years at Credit Lyonnais Securities in London, where he was responsible for a private and government bond trading book, credit derivatives and correlation for the bank's own account.
The area of ??responsibility included Europe and Latin America.
From 1999 to 2001 he was a Fund Manager at MLC Investments (Hedge Fund of Refco Inc. ) being co-responsible for the fund's positions in Europe and Latin America.
Investing in stocks, fixed income, currencies and derivatives, with annualized returns of 26%.
For 5 years he was Director of the trading unit on behalf of the bank in Nomura (New York), investing in fixed and variable income, mainly from Latin American countries.
In that same bank he was Vice President and responsible for all trading books with assets from Brazil and Argentina.
From 1992 to 1993 he was a trader in the bank's proprietary positions department, taking positions in public and private bonds and derivatives at Banco Santander (New York).
During the previous two years he was in charge of the variable income derivatives desk, both for sales and advice to institutional clients and for arbitration and own positions of Banco Santander de Negocios in Madrid.
He is an agricultural engineer from the University of Córdoba and has an MBA from IESE (University of Navarra).
