Mr. Rich Tong is a Managing Director & Co-Founder at Ignition Capital, Founding Partner at Ignition Partners LLC.
He co-founded Ignition Partners in 2000 and also co-founded Ignition Partners in 2009, he had wealth of years experience in marketing, operations and management.

He represents Qiming on the board of Yeelion, and Ignition on the boards of Seamobile, lala.com, mpire.com as well as mFoundry and Melodeo.
Prior to co-founding Ignition in 2000, he spent 12 years at Microsoft where he most recently served as Vice President of Marketing for Microsoft Office and Windows Server products.
Rich built and led the marketing teams for Windows, NT, Exchange, SQL Server, BackOffice and Internet server.
His team’s efforts catapulted Windows from a $50 million to $500 million business in two years.
He is also the co-author (along with John Zagula) of the book, The Marketing Playbook, a best-selling guide of marketing in the high-tech age.
He has also lectured on the topic at Tsinghua University, UC Berkeley, University of Washington and Apple Computer.
As an inveterent technology bluff, he constantly blogs about his experiences in China and the US at Tongfamily.com.
Mr. Tong received his MBA and MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
He received his BS summa cum laude, in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Princeton University.
