Mr. Michel is Senior Advisor for Corporate and Governmental Affairs with Hogan & Hartson.
He joined the law firm in 1995 after serving 38 years in Congress as the US Representative from the 18th Congressional District of Illinois, including 14 years as House Republican Leader.
In 1994, President Clinton awarded Mr. Michel the Presidential Medal of Freedom – the nation’s highest civilian honor.
He was presented with the Citizens Medal in 1989 by President Reagan.
In 2003 he was presented with the Congressional Distinguished Service Medal by the US House of Representatives.
In recognition of his participation in the liberation of France and Europe during World War II, Mr. Michel was named Knight of the Legion of Honor by the President of France in 2004.
Mr. Michel also serves on the Board of Trustees of Bradley University.
