Mr. Roberts served as a Captain in the U.S.
Air Force (1963 to 1968) and from 1966 to 1968, was assigned to the U.S.
Embassy, Republic of China.
From 1969 to 1979, he was in the securities industry where he was appointed Resident Manager and First Vice President with Prudential Bache, a national securities investment banking and brokerage firm.
From 1979 to 1985, he was a principal, member of the Board of Directors, and Senior Vice President of The Landsing Corporation, which created multiple partnerships and five finite-life real estate investment trusts (REIT), one of which was listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
From 1985 to 1989, he served as a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Management Committee, which created and financed Foundation Health Corporation, a national health care company listed on the NYSE.
Mr. Roberts holds a BS degree from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce.
He has been an active member of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF), the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM), the Institutional Real Estate Letter Editorial Board (IREL), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
