Sebastiaan Bierens

Mr. Sebastiaan Bierens is a Director at Capstone Research Ltd. He is on the Board of Directors at Capstone LLC.
He joined Capstone in 2016 and is a Director on the London Financial and Business Services team.
He works primarily with private equity investors and corporate clients, providing strategic advisory services and regulatory due diligence for buy-side, sell-side, and M&A transactions in the UK and Europe.
He has overseen more than 50 transactions.
He focuses on developments impacting trust and corporate service providers, fund administrators and wealth management.
He also has deep experience evaluating investment opportunities with exposure to insurance regulation and consumer lending.
Before joining Capstone, Mr. Bierens worked at the Bank of England’s Prudential Regulation Authority focusing on the banking capital adequacy framework and UK leverage ratio.
Additionally, he represented the PRA in technical negotiations at the European Banking Authority.
He also worked at the London School of Economics as a Research Assistant on financial law and regulation.
He holds a master’s of law in banking law and financial regulation from the London School of Economics and a master’s of law in European and international law from the Catholic University of Leuven and an undergraduate degree in law from the University of Antwerp.
