The firm was founded in 1987 and was acquired in 2023 by Momentum Global Investment Management Ltd., ultimately owned by Momentum Metropolitan Holdings Ltd. (JSE: MTM) in South Africa. CAIM is a specialist fixed-income reserves manager for Central Banks and multi asset manager for institutional clients based predominantly in developing markets. In addition to investment management services, the firm also provides training and capacity building for Central Banks and pension funds.
