Prior to founding Sawyer in February 1986, Dr. Sawyer served as a portfolio manager with Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., for over fifteen years.
He spent the first nine of those years with BBH’s Wall Street office, serving as portfolio manager to individuals, trusts, pension funds, profit sharing funds, endowments and foundations.
He was most recently a Manager in the Investment Advisory Department of BBH, Boston.
Prior to joining BBH, he was a portfolio manager with Bayrock Advisors, a portfolio management subsidiary of Bache & Co.
Dr. Sawyer holds a B.A. degree from Williams College, an M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce with a major in Finance, a Ph.D.
degree from the New York University Graduate School of Business with a major in Finance and Economics, and an M.A. degree from Boston College with a major in Spirituality and Ministry.
