Born in Leningrad, Russia, William, or "Vlad" Wolodarsky immigrated to Canada as a young man, later moving to the U.S., eventually earning his degree in geology from the University of Michigan in 1954.
In his career, he has alternatively worked for himself, as a consultant and founder of successful public oil exploration companies (including Peyto Oils and Ogy Petroleums , and for others, largely in petroleum exploration.
Mr. Wolodarsky brings to the board his knowledge of and experience in the exploration business, as well as his contacts in geological and prospecting circles in Canada and oversees.
During his years on the board, he has been instrumental in bringing properties and exploration opportunities to GGL and also in assisting GGL in its financing activities.
A member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists, and the Professional Engineers of Alberta, Mr. Wolodarsky is again acting as an independent geologic consultant as head of Mistaya Exploration International, which is based in Calgary.
