Mr. Adrian Au is Asia Pacific Equities Investments Director at Baring Asset Management.
He joined Baring Asset Management (Asia) in August 2007.
Mr. Au was previously with the Hamon Investment Group and has extensive experience in managing both benchmark-based and absolute-return portfolios in the Asian equity markets.
At Hamon he was responsible for stock selection with relative value focus in the region and covered markets in Greater China and Korea.
He began his fund management career in 1994 with Invesco Asia in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for macro-economic and stock research in the Greater China region.
He also managed two unit trusts that were ranked in the first quartile of the universe during the period, until he joined GK Goh Securities in 1998 to head up their research in conglomerate sector and small-cap securities.
In 1999, he joined Morgan Stanley Asia as a Proprietary Trader to manage their in-house absolute return portfolios, where his areas of focus included relative value pairs trading, merger arbitrage and same-share-class arbitrage for the Asian markets.
Mr. Au graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in Economics and Engineering in 1992, and was subsequently rewarded an MA in 1996.
