Prior to co-founding Dearborn Partners in 1997, he was the Managing Director of SEI Asset Consulting Group in Chicago (formerly a division of SEI Investments) providing investment consulting services to institutional clients with over $400 billion in assets.
Previously, he founded Jerome Hickey Associates, which was sold to the Northern Trust Corporation and became the foundation of Northern Trust Securities, Inc. He later served as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Stein Roe & Farnham, Inc.
He received his BS Economics from the College of the Holy Cross (Massachusetts) and a MA Philosophy from Boston College.
