Dr. Sebastian T.
Braun is a Visiting Research Fellow at Forschungsinstitut zur Zukunft der Arbeit GmbH and a Researcher at Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
He is a Professor of Economics at the University of Bayreuth, where he holds the chair for Quantitative Economic History.
He works at the intersection of labor economics, international economics, and economic history.
His current primary research is on the economic effects of immigration and the evolution of intergenerational mobility, focusing on Germany in the 19th and 20th centuries.
He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in June 2019.
Before joining the University of Bayreuth, he was an Associate Professor at the University of St. Andrews and a Senior Researcher at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
He studied economics at the University of Hamburg, the University of St. Andrews (B.Sc.), and Humboldt-Universität Zu Berlin (M.Sc., Ph.D.).
